Iran animation hailed in Hungary

Kecskemét Animation Film Festival in Hungary hails Iranian animation ‘Stripy’.

Hungarian studio managers and animation directors praised the Iranian animation at the 13th edition of the event.

Directed by Babak and Behnoud Nekouei, ‘Stripy’ was screened in the non-competition section of the festival.

The 2D animation has been screened in many international festivals in France, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, the Netherlands and Romania.

The four-minute animation narrates the story of a factory worker who have to go through routine activities but suddenly gives up and shatters the mould.

In 2016, the short musical animation made it to the long list of Oscar nominees.

Founded in 1985, the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival (KAFF) is two festivals in parallel: the festival of Hungarian animation films and the international festival of European animated Feature Films, TV Specials and TV Series.
